It's a year of celebration and reflection for EAL as we've reached our first anniversary in the Grand Duchy. 2023 marks not only our direct presence in Luxembourg but also our commitment to connection, innovation, and growth. We'd like to share what this inaugural year has meant to us. In honor of our anniversary, we're having a conversation with Eric Coilliot, the representative and voice behind EAL's leading position in access control and security in Luxembourg.
As a pioneer in the world of access control, EAL has been dedicated to providing advanced solutions from the very beginning. For nearly two decades, EAL has played a crucial role in shaping the Luxembourg business landscape. Previously, EAL operated through a distributor in Luxembourg, but a year ago, the decision was made to establish a direct presence with our own office.

One key to EAL's success is its extensive distribution network, which has enabled them to build a strong local presence in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Eric stresses the importance of customer relationships: "Our customers know they can rely on EAL, not only for advanced technology but also for personalized service and support. This commitment is so important to us that we've decided to directly engage with our customers in Luxembourg and operate locally.
Eric points to the appreciation they receive from customers and partners: "We're particularly proud of the recognition of our commitment to quality and reliability. EAL's backward compatibility provides our customers with assurance and confidence, helping to build a successful future where the security and efficiency of businesses, both in Luxembourg and beyond, are paramount."
The innovative implementation of enhanced card reader technology (EV3) globally is a significant milestone: "Our customers have entrusted us to implement the latest version of our leading solution. This supports the latest standards in card reader technology, handling increased encryption levels (EV3). We've even achieved this for our Luxembourg customers with locations 5000 km away.
The EV3 version is a game changer in terms of security and compatibility: "It offers significantly enhanced protection. EV3 has remained uncompromised and continues to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. Thanks to the compatibility of our solutions, the implementation can also be done without our customers having to adapt their existing systems. It also enables seamless data exchange with various partners, including cafeterias and vending machines."
Over the past year, EAL has further developed compatibility with external PSIM systems through close collaboration with the dedicated R&D department: "The symbiotic relationship between our customers and our R&D department has yielded fruitful results and had a positive impact on the evolution of our product offerings and the improvement of existing interfaces. As an access control specialist, it is crucial that we remain open to and work with third-party systems (e.g., e-SIM, VMS, HR). We are proud that all information is thoroughly shared and utilized throughout the organization."
Eric looks ahead to the future: "At EAL NL, we are committed to continuous growth and innovation, driven by the needs and feedback of our customers. Since becoming part of Unica Access & Security in 2022, the cloud, remote, and additional services offer significant opportunities in the Luxembourg market. We have an identity management solution within Unica Access & Security that seamlessly complements the EAL solutions. I'm looking forward to introducing our customers to the solutions of Unica Access & Security. Together, we continue to build a safer and more advanced future for businesses worldwide."
